It’s an exciting week for wForum. We mark a few milestones – our first Board meeting and our first annual Moderator Symposium, which have been months in planning. Oh, and just in time for moderator training, we have updated our online library of four publications for Year1 and Year2. None of this would have happened without you, contributors past and present.
Maybe for me it’s been a lifetime in the making, but in fact, wForum is less than two years old. Along with the growth of wForum, this week is a milestone in my growth. wForum is a true collaboration, which is a big change in my M.O. Having spent my previous career in consulting as a solo-gig, this business of co-creating is a not just a new-ish way for me, it’s outside my comfort zone.
I must admit, the payoffs are good. Asking for help – I don’t have to work so hard. Accepting help – I have thinking partners who make a huge difference in the quality of the work. Each collaboration inspires me toward a new playing field. Leading from here, I worry less about being in control. I have potential for something more interesting to grow, in me and in wForum.
We’ve begun something good together. Thank you for believing in Women’s Forum; thank you for believing in me. And thank you for being such very good company.
